Gowran Park stages its first fixture of the flat season today.

There’s a seven-race flat card with the first of those races due off at 4 pm. We open the card with a competitive seven-furlong maiden and Chicago Blackhawk, which holds an entry in the Irish 2000 guineas, he’s the 7/4 market leader to win at the third time of asking for Johnny Murtagh and Ben Coen.

The main race of the evening is the Irish stallion farms EBF fillies handicap over seven furlongs due off at 4.30 pm and 11 horses go to post for that.

The market leader is Elizabethan for Aiden O’Brien and JA Heffernan but there has been support for the Dermot Weld trained Deidra who ran in the Irish Lincoln, she’ll be partnered for the first time by Colin Keane.

Zegos Surprise who’s already a winner this season, he’s poorly drawn, but he’s the market leader to win the “Good Enuf To Eat Catering Handicap” at 5.30 pm.

No fewer than 110 horses have been declared for the seven-race card.

The day’s action is round off with a mile and one-furlong handicap at 7 pm.

Get the full race card here.

The ground at @GowranPark1 (Wednesday & Thursday) remains soft, yielding in places. Mainly dry@WexfordRacecour (Friday) is good, good to yielding in places (watering). Mainly dry over the coming days
