Gowran Park Racecourse manager Eddie Scally says their focus now turns to the Goffs Thyestes Day which takes place on the 23rd January.
It’s the highlight of the year at the local course and Eddie says it has become a huge race beyond the locality.
He said “I’ve travelled a lot in the last number of years with horse racing I’ve been lucky to travel around, and every track I go to, York, Cheltenham and even to France, they all turn around when I say i’m working in Gowran Park and straight away its Thyestes Chase, it’s not just our race, it’s a national race”.
