Highview Athletic Player-Manager Dean Broaders is hopeful that the recent Pat Maher Shield Final triumph will act as an extra incentive to try and gain further silverware.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of tomorrow’s (Sunday) KCLR McCalmont Cup clash against Newpark, Dean says they have plenty to play for in the coming weeks.
He said “We won the Pat Maher Shield final, we were delighted and we had a great night afterwards and a great day for the club, but the main thing to kind of get to the players was that’s gone now and that’s over so we just have to keep looking forward and we are still right in it in both the McCalmont Cup and the League so it’s just about focusing our efforts now on Sunday first of all and then going into the League.”
“As great as winning the Shield is, it’s kind of over now so yeah, it will definitely give us confidence, but we just have to focus on what is in front of us now and hopefully we can get a bit of silverware somewhere along the line as well”.
