As the reigning champions of Kilkenny and the Leinster Province, O’Loughlin Gaels are well aware of the challenges that come with reaching the pinnacle of the All-Ireland Club Championship.
Manager Brian Hogan shared insights into the team’s preparation and expressed confidence in the players’ physical condition. He noted, “We had a couple of guys coming into the Na Fianna match that were carrying one or two knocks. We had a week’s turnaround. It is pretty much trying to manage the issues at hand because, you know, a week is no time really. Thankfully with the extra week, that two-week gap, I think is ideal, and everyone is ready to go.”

Hogan emphasized the importance of the extended break in aiding the players’ recovery, ensuring they are in optimal shape for the upcoming clash.
When asked about the strategy against Ruairi Óg Cushendale, Hogan highlighted the team’s focus on self-improvement. “We’ve done a bit of homework on them, kind of aware of where their threats are. This week, it’s been very much about focusing on ourselves and making sure that we’re sharp as we can be and we’re clear in terms of how we want to play.”
The manager acknowledged the novelty of the venue, with the game taking place in Navan. “It is a new venue for the lads; I do not think any of the lads would have played in Navan. So again, a bit like the last day, it’s a new, there’s a new feel to it. You’re coming up beyond Dublin to Meath, but it’s great, you know, it’s a great experience and it’ll be a serious test.”
