The Kilkenny hurling homecoming is on.

While the atmosphere may differ this year between Semple Stadium and Nowlan Park, Kilkenny’s minor and senior hurlers are to be recognised with a civic reception this evening at Nowlan Park.

Gates to Kilkenny GAA HQ will open around 4pm, beginning with a replay of the game.

Live music and more follows with the team expected to arrive to Kilkenny for 6pm, taking an open top bus to reach Nowlan Park around 6.30pm.

The bus will departe Kilkenny Castle down to Rose Inn Street, over John’s Bridge, and up John Street, proceeding up the Hebron Road and finishing in O’Loughlin Road.

All events are expected to finish before 8pm.

Parking

As per Kilkenny County Council, all public car parks in Kilkenny City will be open and free of charge for the event from 4pm today.

Concession rates will be in operation for private car parks at MacDonagh Junction and Q-Park on Ormonde Street.
