The opening day of the Horizon Irish Open for 2022 is in the bag and it’s New Zealand’s Ryan Fox that holds the clubhouse lead on -8.
Of the Irish, Seamus Power and Niall Kearney both enjoyed good opening rounds to finish on -4 with both looking like they could have walked off with a -5 or -6. They’re best-placed after day one in a tie for 23rd.
Shane Lowry will be looking to put Thursday behind him and go two or three shots better on Friday with the cut, even 24 hours out, expected to be around the -3 mark.
