Kilkenny Under-21 Hurling manager Eddie Brennan says it’s going to be a huge challenge to play Wexford in the Leinster Under-21 Final.
This year’s final has been confirmed for Nowlan Park on Wednesday 5 July.
Speaking to KCLR after last night’s semi-final victory over Westmeath, Eddie says that Wexford have set the standard within the province in recent years.
“It’s a huge challenge. Wexford are on a high at the moment”, says Brennan.
“They have definitely passed us out in 21 in the province in the last couple of years so that’s the challenge that is there. For young lads like them, what else would they want only go to a Leinster Final and take on Wexford.”
“I mean, they have some good quality senior players, but we have quality there and it’s just all about the heads now and the attitudes. There is a challenge ahead in that the seniors are going to be playing on Saturday evening before our match the Wednesday, so that in itself is going to be tricky but we have a big squad and we have plenty of good hurlers and that’s it.”
