Whatever questions were asked of Evergreenon Sunday in their FAI Junior Cup clash against Willow Park, they were all answered.

While Kilkenny were taking care of Galway in Nowlan Park, the Kells Road side secured a berth in the quarter finals of this year’s cup competition after a solid 2-0 win over the Athlone men.

The hosts were 1-0 up at the break thanks to an early goal from Sean Barcoe before Conor English fired this beauty of a free kick into the top right corner to double their lead midway through the second half.

Two games went to penalties, with Sherrif overcoming Villa FC 4-1 (0-0 AET) while Kilmallock United took their shootout 4-1 having gone the distance at 1-1 against Donnycarney.
