Horse racing’s Jim Bolger and Davy Russell have announced their star-studded teams for Hurling for Cancer Research, taking place for the first time in the event’s history at Carlow’s Netwatch Cullen Park this Monday evening.
Gates open from 4pm, with mini-matches taking place from 5pm and throw-in of the main event scheduled for 6pm – the game itself you’ll be able to follow on air in full on KCLR and Scoreline.ie. Tickets are available online here.
Some of Ireland’s top hurlers and jockeys have been confirmed for the must-see battle between the two teams with Wexford and Kilkenny legends Liam Griffin and Brian Cody acting as Bainisteoirs.
A who’s who of GAA, racing, sports and TV stars such as David and Paudie Clifford, Rachael Blackmore, Ursula Jacob, Paul McGrath, Miriam O’Callaghan, Michael Duignan, Kevin Manning, Willie McCreery, Barry Geraghty, Marty Morrissey and Joanne O’Riordan are among those set to lend a hand as selectors, commentators, side-line officials, umpires and maor uisce.
Jim Bolger’s side is Kilkenny-heavy and sees Eoin Murphy, Paul Murphy, Jackie Tyrrell, Richie Reid, Padraig Walsh, Adrian Mullen, TJ Reid, Richie Hogan, Eoin Cody, Katie Nolan, JJ Delaney, Tommy Walsh, Michael Fennelly, and more all set to line out while Carlow fans may see the likes of Sean O’Brien, Cian Kelly, Chris Nolan and Marty Kavanagh take to the field for Davy Russell’s side.

Liam Griffin will take charge of Jim Bolger’s side while former Kilkenny manager Brian Cody will be on the sideline once again for Davy Russell’s selection.
