The final score at Parnell Park was Wicklow 15 points, Carlow 1-9. Carlow came away from the competition with a draw against Laois and a narrow loss to Fermanagh.

An emotional Niall Carew spoke to our Brendan Hennessey:

“I’m just extremely disappointed for this group, I think they’re better than what they’re showing. I just chatted to them there, so I stepped away.”

“I’ve had four and a half, five years of great work with them. I wish them all the best”

“I’d like to thank everyone of you. You’ve been so good to us. As a management group, you call it a right every time.”
