Former Kilkenny hurler Michael Rice says he’s not concerned about comments that Munster hurling was far superior to Leinster hurling at the minute.

Derek McGrath made the comments recently where he put Limerick as the strongest team in the championship with Kilkenny amongst the weakest.

Kilkenny is preparing to meet Cork in the All Ireland Semi-final on Sunday.

Michael told the Clash Act Podcast that these words get uttered every year and Kilkenny has proven them wrong many times.

“I wouldn’t be overly concerned about those comments because I’ve seen them before, and I’ve seen them before when we’ve managed to win all Irelands against these Munster teams,” said Michael.

“I would back Kilkenny to go toe to toe with any of the Munster teams, and I wouldn’t be concerned in that regard, and I think it’s a good thing from a Kilkenny point of view, you can absolutely put us down the bottom of the pile, no problem” he added.
