“I’m in the group that’s cautious, I’m in the group that’s concerned, worried because, again, can we beat Clare three times in a semi-final?” Ronan remarked. “But the one I’m really worried about is, Clare are slightly coming under the radar as such, they’re not being talked up this time. The last two years they’ve been talked up in Munster, they’ve been talked up by themselves, by their supporters and by the media, but people are talking them down and not mentioning them in high regard like previous years.”
Ronan’s concerns are not without merit. Clare has already bested Kilkenny twice this year, including a decisive 3-16 to 1-20 victory in the National Hurling League final at Semple Stadium in April.
Will Kilkenny overcome the challenge posed by Clare and secure a place in the final? Or will Clare advance at Kilkenny’s expense?
Stay tuned to KCLR’s Laharts Scoreline for all the live action and expert commentary. This semi-final is set to be a thrilling chapter in the storied rivalry between Kilkenny and Clare.
