Ballyhale Shamrocks Senior Hurler Michael Fennelly says injuries have been a huge factor as to why they have not won the County Championship since 2014.
Ballyhale Shamrocks play Dicksboro in the last of the Senior Quarter-Finals on Sunday afternoon in John Locke Park, Callan, Michael says they are well of pace in terms if winning silverware….
“Yeah, we have had a long wait and again that’s probably just down to ourselves and how we have played and maybe poorly we have played over the years, but injuries have always been an issue with us as well”
“We seem to struggle with injuries and it takes a lot of miles on the clock for some players too so that has always been a struggle, but obviously we are looking to get back up there, but we are miles away from winning anything at the moment and the way the weather is now at the moment and this time it’s any teams championship really because the whole Summer of the whole skill fast ball is gone now”
“You want men at this stage and that’s the way it’s going to be and that’s one unfortunate thing about club hurling, that it is the Winter and the conditions are not great but that’s the way the fixtures are laid out”
