Inline Hockey Ireland, the country’s organisation dedicated to developing and promoting inline hockey in Ireland, has announced a series of player webinars running through end January.

Three Zoom-based sessions are planned, exploring nutrition, goaltending and skills development.

Per IHI,

“With the continued lockdowns looking to be in place until at least mid-February we have been looking at ways to keep players engaged and active in inline hockey.”

“We are delighted to announce that throughout January we will be hosting a series of player-focused webinars.”

Those planned so far include

  • Wednesday 13 January: Colin Shields – Hockey Specific Fitness & Nutrition
  • Wednesday 20 January: Rob Schistad – Tools to Improve Your Goaltending
  • Wednesday 27 January: Ken Moussat – Maximising Fundamental Skills Development

Shields (13 January) is a former professional & Great Britain International ice hockey player. He’s now a qualified personal trainer and owner/operators of Total Performance Fitness, Belfast.

Schistad is also a former professional and Norwegian international ice hockey goaltender.

While Moussant is the current Ireland U16 head coach and senior men’s assistant coach.

Those interested will require a computer/mobile device and internet connection capable of running Zoom, with registration available here.

Keep an eye on IHI’s Facebook page for more details.
