In the Talbot Hotel intermediate football championship, Grange moved a step closer to claiming a quarter final place with a two point win over Naomh Eoin at Netwatch Training Centre on Wednesday evening.
Two first half goals from Davy Moran and Henry Hegarty enabled Grange to lead by 2-5 to 0-6 at half time.
Naomh Eoin rallied in the final quarter however Grange held on for a two point win on a final score line of Grange 2-7, Naomh Eoin 0-11.
Elsewhere Palatine defeated Clonmore by 1-10 to 0-10 in the Junior football ‘C’ championship
In the junior hurling championship on Tuesday Bagenalstown Gaels got their second win with two points to spare over Naomh Eoin Bagenalstown Gaels 1-9 Naomh Eoin 0-10
With Round two of the Senior, Intermediate and Junior football championships swinging in to action this coming weekend every team has only one thing on their mind to win and stay in the championship.
