In breaking news, Ireland’s Head Coach Andy Farrell has unveiled a formidable 34-player squad for the upcoming Guinness Men’s Six Nations, announcing Peter O’Mahony as the team’s captain for the 2024 Championship.

The squad is set to gather at the IRFU High Performance Centre in Dublin on Monday, kicking off preparations for their first Championship match against France at Stade Velodrome in Marseille on Friday, 2 February. The match is scheduled for a 9 pm local time kick-off, or 8 pm Irish time.

O’Mahony, a seasoned back-row player with 10 previous captaincy stints under his belt, takes the helm from Jonathan Sexton, who retired after last year’s Rugby World Cup.

After the France face-off, Ireland is set for consecutive home matches at Aviva Stadium, facing Italy on Sunday, 11 February, with a 3 pm kick-off, and Wales on Saturday, 24 February, scheduled for a 2:15 pm kick-off.

Farrell’s squad will then cross the Irish Sea for a thrilling encounter against England at Twickenham in Round 4 on Saturday, 10 March, kicking off at 4:45 pm. The Championship concludes with a clash against Scotland at Aviva Stadium on Saturday, 16 March, with kick-off at 4:45 pm.

Stay tuned for updates as Ireland aims to make a strong statement in this year’s Six Nations Championship under the leadership of Captain Peter O’Mahony.
