It’s understood that Henry Shefflin could be about to head back into a management role in a Kilkenny club.
He’s expected to take the reigns of Thomastown GAA club who fight again at Intermediate this year in a bid to return to the Senior ranks.
They were very narrowly beaten in the Intermediate county final by Lisdowney on penalties ,( You can listen back to the game here.), and the previous year They fell at the feet of Tullaroan.
Henry, of course , led his own club Ballyhale Shamrocks to successive All-Ireland club Senior Hurling Club titles last January during his first foray on the sideline, with his old side having recently become county champions under the tutelage of James O’Connor.
Henry Shefflin will be taking over Kilkenny intermediate side Thomastown for the 2021 season.
Shefflin led Ballyhale to 2 all Ireland clubs in his 1st management stint while Thomastown have been beaten narrowly in the last two intermediate finals.
Something will have to give.
