Two teams with plenty of local representation are into the Fitzgibbon Cup Semi Finals after notable victories last night.

DJ Carey’s I.T Carlow side edged Limerick I.T in a cracking contest in Carlow last night by 1-19 to 18 points.

Kilkenny’s Richie Leahy bagged three poins from midfield, Carlow’s Marty Kavanagh top scored with five points, while James Doyle lined out at Centre Back.

Speaking after the game, Doyle said that the late flurry of scores got them over the line.

Killian Doyle and Conor Burke scored injury-time points as they beat defending champions Mary I by 20-points to 2-12 last night.

There’s a strong Kilkenny coningent there, with Darragh Brennan lining out at corner back with Conor Delaney of Erins Own lining out at centre back and scoring a point in the process.

Darren Mullen popped over a point at Midfield while John Donnelly lined out in the Full Forward line.

The semi-final line-up in the Fitzgibbon Cup will be completed today.

The University of Limerick host their Munster rivals U-C-C this afternoon.

While there’s a Dublin derby at Belfield between U-C-D and D-I-T at 7pm.
