It’s time for Round 4: Charity boxing is back with a punch with fights this Friday night

Let’s get ready to Rumble!

The Castleinch Venue on Callan road Kilkenny is the place to be this Friday. Many new people will be donning the gloves for the very first time, after weeks of training at Kilkenny Combat academy. They may be doing it as they want to throw a few slaps, but there is a bigger matter at the heart of the night.

You see all fighters are “Fighting for Jackie.”

On the 23rd of June Jackie Molloy set out for the Mater in Dublin for an operation to help with pains she was having in her back and legs.

During the operation things didn’t go as planned, she experienced 4 spinal strokes and things then went from bad to worse from there. She was put into a medically induced coma to deal with the trauma and we weren’t sure if we would ever get to see her or speak to her again. Thankfully Jackie as always showed all of her strength and courage and pulled through, waking up to see her loving husband Mush, and 2 sons Craig and Aaron waiting patiently for her. She then got hit with more tragic news in that she had suffered so much trauma during her operation that she was paralyzed from the waist down.

With renovations of the house proving to be costly, the Fight into light crew banded together to put on their fourth charity event to raise some much-needed funds. All proceeds from the family-friendly fight night go directly to the Molloy family.

The atmosphere promises to be electric like all the previous shows held and support has recently been show from current IBO Super Welterweight World Champion Dennis Hogan :

There will also be some K1 bouts on the night , with any tickets left over due to be sold on the door on a first come first served basis. Anybody with a ticket bought online is guaranteed entry. The bus leaves from Castle Rd, Kilkenny at 6 pm, and will do a couple of runs out.
