The Carlow Hurling Club Championship final has been decided after two games in Netwatch Cullen Park last weekend.
Mount Leinster Rangers were first to book their spot after defeating Bagnelstown Gaels by five points, avenging their defeat to them at the same stage last year.
St. Mullins secured their chance at back-to-back titles by convincingly dispatching Ballinkillen.
The final now goes ahead next Sunday between two teams who have met each other at this very stage six times within the last decade, with the teams drawn on 3 county titles each within that period.
Speaking to KCLR man of the match against Balinkillen James Doyle stated they have to improve on their semi-final appearance to beat their longtime rivals;
“In the second half, we drove a lot of wides that we could maybe usually get. I think as a team we played well but we’re gonna have to up our game massively to put it up to Rangers next weekend.
“You’re going out to win so it’s going to be a battle.”
“It’s a quick turnaround for both teams but look it’s going to be a tough battle and we’re looking forward to it. We know we know a doubt that Rangers are going to bring it as well.”
