Kilkenny’s Joe Lyng has called time on his inter-county hurling career with Kilkenny.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday night, Lyng made the announcement drawing the curtain down on his ‘childhood dream’.
“I’ve decided to part ways from the kk panel. 6 great years of living my childhood dream and making lifelong friends.”
“Thanks to everyone who helped me along the way. Nice way to sign off from down under.”

Lyng, 27, had been part of the Kilkenny setup that travelled to Australia last week with Galway for the inaugural Wild Geese trophy.
Beaten All-Ireland finalists Galway claimed the Wild Geese Trophy on a 65’s shootout after the sides finished level 4-23 to 3-6.
The Rower-Inistioge man is the first post-season departure for Kilkenny as Brian Cody and the backroom team start the process of assembling the county panel for the Walsh Cup in the new year.
