Carrickshock made a statement in Croke Park on Saturday afternoon with a hefty dismantling of Galway and Connaught champions Ahascragh-Fohenagh.
Having suffered the disappointment of relegation in recent years, Carrickshock are back in the big time in Kilkenny and finished out their season as Intermediate Club All-Ireland champions.
Captain John Tennyson was steadfast in his assessment of Carrickshock’s performance on the day.
“From the get-go we were on top. We said we were going to come up and put in a performance, whatever Ahascragh were going to bring we were going to try and match it. We got the penalty to put a bit of breathing space between us, took our chances, played well and in the end were well on top.”
