A date of July 5th is being pencilled in for the return of Formula 1 with the Austrian Grand Prix.

It’s intended there will be fifteen to eighteen races in the calendar.

Ex-F1 driver Martin Brundle thinks starting the season with a double-header in Austria is a good plan.

It’s understood the sport’s bosses are planning to hold four races in July – two at the Red Bull Ring and two at Silverstone.

Silverstone are confident of being able to deliver a British Grand Prix this year – even though any race would be held without fans.

The circuit announced yesterday that spectators wouldn’t be allowed in due to the coronavirus.
