Well after beginning as the curtain opener to the season, we are finally at the semi-final stages of the KCLR Cup.
Fixture congestion was playing havoc on the finding time to play the Shield games, with Vale Wanderers and New Oak boys in particular falling behind on their league games also. However, an agreement for midweek games was struck up with the two sides, who ended up being the first two to advance.
On a cold Thursday night, New Oak boys bested St. Patrick’s boys while the mid-week before Wanderers had a comfortable 6-2 win over Baltinglass Town. This set up a clash between the two sides, who all ready met in this competition as both were in the same group. Vale Wanderers thus handed New Oak their only defeat of the competition with a 2-1 and topped the group undefeated.
With both Vale and New Oak playing league fixtures this weekend, the four other clubs battled it out on Sunday in a battle of the United between Crettyard and Parkville, as Mill Celtic played Killeshin.
Crettyard maintained their 100% record in the competition this year with a 4-1 win, while Kileshin were in right form putting five passed Mill Celtic.
So the semi-finals are now set, with a date as of yet unknown:
