Kilkenny & District League have announced the date of June 23rd for their Annual General Meeting.
Each club is entitled to have their organization represented on the day in Springhill Court Hotel from 8 pm. Any amendments, additions, or alterations to rules are to be made in writing 21 days before the date of the AGM.
There is also a call out for people who wish to be elected onto the League Management Committee. One thing for sure is that a new chairman will need to be approved as long-time leader John Corrigan is looking to step away from the role.
Speaking to Scoreline after the McCalmont Cup final, John says he is quite proud of what the league has been able to achieve over the last few years;

“I have been chairman for the last six or seven years. I looked at it with pride, that I was the chairman of such an organization. Since then clubs have improved, not to do with me, but they have improved. “
“Freebooters have won Leinster cups, we have added to the Oscar Traynor, we have won youths inter leagues, schoolboys inter leagues, and won a Gaynor Cup, so I would like to think I have had a small part to play.”
We would like to thank John for all his work over the years as Chair of the board and for being open and transparent with all of us at KCLR.
In relation to the AGM, earlier in the season, we have received messages from certain clubs in relation to rules within the league (See below). The AGM is the best time to get your voices heard and proposed changes enacted.
