Last Saturday saw the Quarter Finals of the Leinster Senior Schools A Hurling Championship take place with four local schools involved.
The battle of the local counties featured St Kierans up against Borris Vocational School and despite a late Jack Kelly goal, Kierans held on for a 14 points to 1-9 win with Adrian Mullen the marksman in chief.
Kilkenny CBS got past Dublin North by 1-19 to 1-12, but Castlecomer lost out to Good Counsel by 2-8 to 12 points after conceding a late goal.
The weekend began with a bang for Carlow CBS when they became South Leinster Senior B Football champions with a win over FCJ Bunclody, while Colaiste Eoin Hacketstown won the South Leinster Senior Football D Final with a 3-10 to 1-12 victory over Castledermot after extra time.
