This years end to the women’s national league was electric with two teams fighting for the title going into the last game.
Shelbourne were ultimately crowned the SSE Airtricity Women’s National League champions after a dramatic night of action.
Peamount came into their last game of the season with a two point advantage at the top of the table. They then lost 5-2 at home to Galway United while Shels beat Wexford 3-2 to win the league by a single point.
Due to their exploits throughout the season Kilkennys Karen Duggan and Carlows Kylie Murphy have been nominated for player of the year at this years SSE Airtricity Women’s National League Awards
There is more representation of the Marble City as former Thomastown player Ellen Molloy is also nominated for young player of the year.
The event will take place on Wednesday, December 1st.
