Have you an interest in management? Would you like to be inclined with a county team?
Kilkenny Camogie are seeking expressions of interest for the position of U16 management. Jim Smith was manager for the last term for 12 months. The side failed to qualify from the group for the championship, although they win the Leinster.
A former u16 manager Seamus Kelly has recently been ratified as the new intermediate manager, with the Mount Leinster Rangers manager taking over from John Scott. He has also been named on Brian Dowling’s backroom team after the double All-Ireland winner confirmed he will be remaining in charge of the senior team.
Mike Wall previously managed the u16 side before Seamus before taking charge of the minor side for his second spell in charge of that team. So it is clear for all to see to see the natural progression within the ranks.
Such progression has now become commonplace around the community and can be observed on the intercounty side of hurling recently with Derek Lyng’s success at u20 level earning him the Kilkenny Senior Manager job.
