Kilkenny and Carlow commence their Leinster Minor Football Championships on Saturday.
Kilkenny are at home to Wexford, while Carlow host Louth.
Kilkenny make their return to the competition having been away the past few years, and they have had a good response to training with 29 named in the squad for Saturday’s game.
However, they won’t know how well they have been doing until they play on Saturday.
A respectable performance and scoreline is what they would be at least hoping for.
Carlow competed in the Leinster Minor League earlier in the so they would have had competitive match practice having played Westmeath, Kildare and Clare.
On home territory, they will fancy their chances.
Defeat not the end of the road, as there is a back door system within the province.
Throw-in for both games on Saturday is at 3pm.
