While both Carlow and Kilkenny are now out of this year’s junior rugby cup competition, the next round will take place locally as the draw for the semi-final stages of the 91st Provincial Towns Cup saw Oak Park in Carlow and Foulkstown in Kilkenny named as venues for the penultimate cup fixtures.
Up first is Enniscorthy, last year’s winners. Having dispatched Kilkenny in the quarter final stages on Sunday at Ross Road, the Wexford men will head to Foulkstown to take on Naas this coming Sunday. Enniscorthy will surely look to find favour at Foulkstown having experienced victory there over Kilkenny twice in the last 9 months (once in the South East League and once in Division 1A). Naas will make the trip down the M9 having beaten Division 1A runners-up Gorey 23-14.

The following Sunday sees Oak Park play host to Wicklow and Clondalkin. Clondalkin will be hoping to put the disappointment of last year’s semi-final behind them as they were well beaten by Kilkenny in the same venue at the same time last year.
This time out, however, the Dublin side progress to the semi-finals on the back of a 59-8 victory over Roscrea while Wicklow make the semi-final stages for the fourth time in their club’s history on the back of a 35-8 win over Division 2A winners Portlaoise.
Both games kick off at 3pm.
