There were scenes out on the Kells Road on Sunday as Kilkenny’s Evergreen hosted Carlow’s Crettyard in the FAI Junior Cup.
The game was tied at 1-1 at the break before Mikey Drennan got a go-ahead goal for the home side on the 69th minute. Drama would follow in the closing minutes with Crettyard pulling the game back to 2-2 with a minute to go in normal time before Lee Delaney, three minutes into stoppage time, got his head under a corner to send Evergreen into the fourth round of the competition.
At the same time, Bridge United needed penalties to knock out Fort Rangers in a Kilkenny derby. New Oak Boys lost out to Gorey Rangers while Vale Wanders continued their charge by beating Curracloe of Wexford.
