The time for talking is almost over and the action is about to begin!
We are on the eve of County Final Day in Kilkenny and as always the hype, anticipation and excitement is widespread across the county.
Luckily we have the makings of two very good finals in store.
First up in the Junior Hurling Decider it’s John Lockes of Callan up against Mooncoin at 1pm.
John Lockes have been impressive in the build up to the final with a comfortable win over Graignamanagh in the Quarter Final, and they saw off Dicksboro by 5 points to qualify for the final.
Mooncoin saw off the Emeralds at the Quarter Final stage after a titanic struggle, and last weekend they had four points to spare over Barrow Rangers in the Semi Final.
This sets up what should be a very exciting curtain raiser and in the end there will probably be only a couple of points in it either way.
The Senior Hurling Final is one that everyone is looking forward to.
O’Loughlin Gaels qualified after tough wins against James Stephens and the Rower Inistioge and are most definitely battle hardened going into Sunday’s decider.
Ballyhale Shamrocks sent out a signal by beating Mullinavat comfortably and then had three points to spare over Clara, but they have shown signs of battle having lost a number of players through injury.
O’Loughlins will be hurting after last years county final defeat to Clara and will most definitely be a wounded animal heading into this game.
Shamrocks still have enough talent left in their ranks to take top honours, but it’s extremely difficult to pick a winner in this one.
The Bookmakers favour the Shamrocks but I see this one as a 50/50 game and who knows we might get to see it all over again over the coming weeks!
We Will Have Full Live Commentary Of Both Games From Nowlan Park At 1pm Sunday With Thanks To John Brennan Machinery Supplies
