John Corrigan from the Kilkenny and District League says he’s hoping that Derdimus will host the cup finals this season including the KCLR McCalmont Cup.
We’re down to the last 16 of the KCLR McCalmont Cup with the draw made yesterday on scoreline.
All those games are down for 11 o clock starts on Sunday next except for Newpark B against Evergreen B which is on at 2 pm.
The KDL decided not to wrap up the league once sport resumed after coronavirus restrictions, however, they are finishing off the cup competitions including the Pat Maher Shield, Mock Lawlor Cup, and more.
John Corrigan says they have to discuss the venue of the finals first but Derdimus would be the ideal location.
“Well, we’d be hoping that we would be able to play them (games) in it but we’ll have to have a face-to-face meeting with our own committee to sit down and look at it and see how things go” said John.
“I could say yes now, but the Irish weather could take a hand and change all that, but at the moment we would be hoping to have our finals there yeah” he added.
John also said it would be his wish that fans can attend the cup finals.
