Kilkenny & District League Oscar Traynor manager Richard Watson feels positive about Kilkenny’s prospects in the Oscar Traynor competition despite hardly having trained together.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of their clash away to Carlow on Saturday, Richard says the communication from the clubs has been top class.
“It’s been a bit difficult. A lot of the top players have been playing FAI and Leinster competitions, so I can understand from respect from the managers point of view that they want to keep their boys together and keep them fit.
So I basically relied on their communication, which has been brilliant, and so I know of all the boys I am picking for the squad so all we need to do now is get this game under our belt, see where we fit, see where everything is all in motion and I am sure these guys are going to play really good outstanding football”.
Kilkenny have a pre-season warmup game this Thursday ahead of the weekend’s competition.
The local derby happens in Tullow this Saturday at 2pm. Hear what Carlow’s Paul Dowling had to say about the game here.
