Graiguenamanagh’s Shane Foley says he is looking forward to renewing his partnership with Lucky Vega in Saturday’s Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh.

The Jessica Harrington trained horse was narrowly beaten by a short head in the recent English 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.

Shane says Lucky Vega is in great shape ahead of the big race.

“Yeah really looking forward to it, he’s come out of his Newmarket race well, I sat on him the other morning,” said Shane.

“Physically he’s done well, I think the Curragh track will suit him, the ground doesn’t really matter to him, to be honest, he’s gone on slow ground, he’s gone on firm ground so he’s very ground versatile so we’re looking forward to it, it’s a nice meet,” he added.
