Kilkenny Native Gavin Holohan says playing under John Caulfield at Cork City was a massive wake-up call in which be benefited from greatly during his career.
John Caulfield stepped down as Cork City manager this week following a disappointing start to the season and speaking to KCLR, Gavin says he learned a lot under his guidance about the professionalism of the game during his time as manager.
He said “When I went to Cork, it was a massive wake-up call, and working under John you could see straightaway that he was a winner, he was determined for the club to have success, if you weren’t on board with that then he wasn’t really interested, he wanted everyone kind of pushing in the same direction”.
He added “I enjoyed my time down there, obviously I didn’t play as regular as maybe I would have wanted to but I learned a lot about the business and about my career so I have only good memories, it’s just sad that John having to step down his post as Cork City manager”.
