Kilkenny Minor Hurlers will take to the field at Croke Park this Sunday against Dublin with the Leinster Championship crown at stake.

It’s unusual that a Kilkenny Minor team are the only team from the county that will play in Croke Park on Leinster Final day but that’s how it has emerged and they will carry the flag for the county.

I have been very impressed with this Kilkenny side this year and was lucky enough to see most of these lads in action for St Kieran’s College and Kilkenny CBS.

They have quality in every line and their results so far this season has epitomized this with a 3-22 to 0-4 win over Westmeath, a 1-20 to 0-11 win over Wexford, and the 6-21 to 0-9 walloping of Laois in the provincial semi final.

Dublin only defeated Laois by 1-11 to 1-8 and just edged out Wexford by 0-20 to 1-14.

All those things count for very little though on the day and Dublin will be well up for this one and didn’t get to this stage by mistake either.

Sean Currie is a very dangerous forward and lethal from placed balls with Liam Murphy and wing back Mark Grogan also carrying that bit of class.

Kilkenny Manager Pat O’Grady has told KCLR that he the backroom team has selected their line ups on form this year and that has been evident throughout the campaign so far.

This Kilkenny team is very balanced and controlled under the guidance of O’Grady and I think they will emerge victorious on Sunday.

We have live commentary of the Leinster Minor Hurling Final on Sunday at 2pm on air and on KCLRFANZONE.COM
