Kilkenny Oscar Traynor side are out this coming Sunday at home to Wicklow in Derdimus in the first round of this years competition at 12.30.
Jim Cashin is managing the side again this year.
Speaking to KCLR, Jim says that they have a very strong squad this season despite the fact that they are nursing a few injuries.
“So far, we have a 20 man squad. We have 4 or 5 of those guys carrying knocks that won’t be able to play on Sunday and David Rice who of course unfortunately was red carded in the final last season is suspended.
“But still that leaves us a very strong 15 to go to war with and and I think last season has definitely restored the faith in the Oscar Traynor.
“I would like to think that we had something to do with that, and we will leave it behind after this season and their will be someone else to carry the mantle.
“All the players are mad up for it,” he concluded.
