Some of the biggest names in Irish rugby will be in Kilkenny this Friday.
Announced at the end of July, Leinster Rugby are holding three open training sessions this week as part of preparations for the start of the 2022/23 United Rugby Championship season.
The last of those is at Kilkenny Rugby Club this Friday morning.
We spoke to Leinster and Ireland’s Hugo Keenan about it and he says the team can’t wait to meet local fans.
“It is a great chance to get out and visit our rugby fans and pitches, getting involved in communities. We have been restricted by covid over the last number of years.”
“Our pitstop in Kilkenny is an open training session, so that is definitely one of the highlights. I think we will be doing a signing session with the kids after it. We are really looking forward to it, hopefully, it will be a good day out as those days are really enjoyable.”
As pre-season continues almost 90 players, from across youths, women’s & mens, training in Foulkstown on Tuesday evening. Showing that people are raring to go for the new season ahead.
Hugo’s also going to be involved in this year’s Iverk Show taking place in Piltown this Saturday afternoon.
