Kilkenny head coach David O’Connor has explained how the club is preparing for the new season.
Speaking to Scoreline, O’Connor gave an insight into the recruitment drive that the club is undertaking ahead of the start of their Leinster League campaign.
” Obviously, it (last season) ended up in relegation. I think a lot of that was down to just the depth of the squad, really.”
“We don’t have huge player numbers there at the moment, something that we’re really trying to work on in the background. We’ve got a lot of new coaches on board this year in Steve Ashmore, Steve Talbot, and Paddy O’Driscoll.”
“Everyone’s reaching out to past players from the last few years to try to bulk up that second team, especially. Those guys that are coming through to the first team next year are going to have a huge impact.”
