It was a tough day in the office for Kilkenny in Croke Park on Sunday afternoon as the senior hurling championship came to a close with Tipperary lifting the Liam MacCarthy cup for the 27th time.
Following a close-fought first half, Tipperary pulled away midway through the second half to finish out the game with nine points to spare, the final score 2-29 to 2-20.
After the game, Kevin Regan caught up with Kilkenny captain Shane Prendergast to get his reaction in the wake of defeat.
Optimistic in defeat, the focus is already on 2017.

We’ve been at the top for so long. It’s not easy to take it today, any loss of this magnitude is tough to take but you just have to try stay positive and look to the future.
