The Kilkenny Social Hurling League which is a competition for over- 35s gets underway this Saturday evening in the Watershed.
Former James Stephens Hurler Niall Tyrrell is one of the chief organizers of the events and he has been outlining to KCLR how the idea came about.
He said “Myself and a few friends have been talking over the last number of months and years about setting up something like this and just having an informal game between us, between friends so we kind of decided to do that and then other people started to get involved and said could we broaden it a bit more”.
“I decided just to set-up a twitter account, get the word out there, word of mouth and just to see was there interest in it and thankfully there was so as a result then, we have set-up this Kilkenny Social Hurling League, this 0ver-35 social hurling league and we are getting going next Saturday 9th February at 6 o’clock in the Watershed”.
