Kilkenny Storm, the Ice & Inline hockey club for all ages operating out of Kilkenny city, have been in touch to let us know about a fundraiser they’re running this weekend at the Town Hall in Kilkenny (Saturday) and MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre (Sunday).
Next spring – or March to be exact – Kilkenny Storm are sending seven of their Under 12s side to Boston and Toronto to represent Ireland on behalf of Ice Hockey Ireland, more than any other club in the country. Of course, these kind of trips cost quite a bit and with funding for ice hockey locally not exactly on astromonical levels, the club are asking for your support this weekend.
They’ll be hosting a ‘Beat The Goalie’ competition on the Town Hall with a hamper of goodies up for grabs. For the sweet-tooth-inclined, they’ll have some teas, coffees and cakes on the go as well.
Keep an eye on the Kilkenny Storm Facebook page for more details on training, upcoming fixtures and events.
