The times, dates and venues have been confirmed for Kilkenny’s opening Leinster hurling fixture and Carlow’s Football championship opener.

Kilkenny will play the winners of Dublin and Laois in the Leinster Senior Semi Final on Saturday the 31st of October at 3.45pm in Croke Park.

Earlier on the same day, Carlow are in Joe McDonagh Cup Round two action against Antrim in Netwatch Cullen Park.

Carlow’s Senior Football Championship opener is against Offaly on Sunday the 1st of November at 1.30pm in Tullamore.

Meanwhile a Gaelic Players Association survey is asking inter-county stars if they want the Allianz National Hurling and Football Leagues and Championships to go ahead as planned.

The representative body is posing the question directly to the players in a survey, with the results expected tomorrow.

Minister Simon Coveney has said he has worries for the GAA ahead of the resumption of inter-county action this weekend.

There are Covid-19 outbreaks in a number of county panels, including the Wexford hurlers and Fermanagh footballers.
