While Kilkenny United have previously featured in the SSE Airtricity Women’s National League, now in the Wexford Women’s and schoolgirls league, the club are making inroads at junior boys level.

A statement from the club, released at the weekend, confirms that they have been accepted into the Kilkenny & District League at underage boys level.

“Kilkenny United FC can confirm that we have been accepted into the Kilkenny and District League at Under 9 and 11 Boys levels. We are now recruiting players to fill the squads ahead of the new season.”

We are now looking for boys born between 2012 and 2016 who are not currently linked to a club. We will play in the Kilkenny & District League for the season ahead. All interested players can contact Paul on 0873977152 or Shane on 0858720027 now as the season is fast approaching. pic.twitter.com/UycXqf2DKY

“Details of open training sessions will be announced on our social media accounts in the near future. We would like to thank Tom Mullins and in the Kilkenny and District League for their co-operation and acceptance of Kilkenny United FC throughout the process.”

“This is another huge, positive step for our club as we introduce boys football at the club for the first time.”

“Our girls setup has been a huge success since joining the Wexford Women’s and Schoolgirls League and we believe that the boys can be as successful in the Kilkenny & District League.”
