Kilkenny will begin their All-Ireland senior camogie journey this weekend with a long trip to Down on Saturday afternoon.

Despite a poor league campaign from Down, KCLR analyst Aine Fahey reckons while this one is going to be a physical test for the Leinster champions, they’ll be very focused on the task at hand.

“It’s a big journey for any team to have to go to the north, it’s a massive massive task”, says Aine.

“It’s when you hit the All Ireland stages, there’s a new focus and it’s a championship frame of mind, this is the one they want to be winning, this is the big one, this is what they’ve been working very hard for the last couple of months,” she added.

Carlow’s intermediate All-Ireland run gets underway next weekend with a road trip to Galway.
