Emer Kelly’s hat-trick meant Kilkenny became the first team to win the Leinster League Division 5 final, beating Tallaght in the decider.

Even though nerves played a part in a shaky opening quarter, these two showed no signs of slowing down.

The score was 19-7 at the break in favour of Kilkenny.

It was a lot earlier in the second period when Kilkenny took advantage of the sin-binning of Leonard to get a try on the outside, with Harte converting for a 26-7 lead.

The sides both got a converted try during the second half with the game finishing up, Kilkenny 33 Tallaght 14.

Scorers – Kilkenny: E Kelly three tries; L Harte try, four cons; L Holden try. Tallaght: M Fitzpatrick, C Conroy-Kearns try each; G Flood two cons.
