Ava Coogan, an U18 player at Kilkenny Stars Basketball Club has made history for her club by being the first girl to receive an International cap.
Ava has been part of the Irish U17 squad for the last year training hard with her team to reach the top level in basketball.
Coogan made her debut on Friday when she flew to Nottingham in England where the Ireland U17 Team played a four game series against team GB at Nottingham Wildcats Arena.
Ireland proved they are at the highest level when they ran out winners over team GB in two games.
Ava coogan will be presented with her International cap in Sept at a special ceremony in Dublin.
