Following Sunday’s dramatic All-Ireland senior camogie final victory, a homecoming civic reception for the Kilkenny senior camogie will be taking place on Monday.

Sure, we’ve known this for a week, but the more important detail was confirmed on Sunday afternoon – the O’Duffy Cup coming back with the team for a 15th time, the first since 2020 and the county’s third title in six years.

Proceedings being with a replay of Sunday’s All-Ireland senior camogie final between Cork and Kilkenny on the big screen (Parliament Street side), that one due to start around 5.30pm. Additional live entertainment is planned and with temperatures expected to be in the 20s coming evening time it should make for a great occasion to get out and show support in person for the team.

That said, the team is due to depart John Street by open-top bus, with the cup, lead by up to 80 members of the county’s underage development squads with arrival slated at the courthouse for 7pm.

However, if tradition is anything to go by, we should be seeing the team and management on the steps of the courthouse with the O’Duffy Cup between 7.15pm and 7.30pm though an earlier arrival (if you’re attending) is recommended.

Can’t make it on Monday? We’ll be broadcasting Full Time live from Parliament Street, with full coverage of the homecoming beginning from 6.15pm.

Stay tuned to KCLR and Scoreline’s sports updates across Monday for more details.
