It’s been a busy few weeks for Kilkenny’s Eoin Cody who has been voted Young Hurler of the year for the second season running while this weekend he plays a huge game with his club Shamrocks Ballyhale.
He’s also part of the IT Carlow squad for the 2022 Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup which starts next month, the Final taking place at IT Carlow in February.
Despite having a Leinster final to contest this weekend, Cody says he’s raring to go with the college in January.
“I can’t wait to play Fitzgibbon (Cup), It’s a thing that I always wanted to play, just playing with the college, it’s something that a lot of the great players won,” said Eoin.
“Eoin Reid always speaks about how he won the Fitzgibbon and I always want to win with everything I play and now I have an opportunity to win a Fitzgibbon with Carlow”.
“I have this year and next year so hopefully, it’s always nice to win the first time around, take a bit of pressure off, it’s going to be tough but we’ll give it a right rattle.
